How We Can Help
Our Education team includes Health Improvement Advisors that work with early learning services and schools to promote about health and wellbeing areas which contribute to improving student, staff, parent/whanau and school community health and wellbeing. For example, we help schools and early learning services to develop healthy food and water-only (and plain milk) educational environments.
Our Health Protection team provide advice and recommendations to early learning services and schools about Health Protection Officers assess and inspect early learning services to ensure staff and children are provided with a healthy environment. The main health areas include the immunisation registers, food hygiene, safety and suitability of play equipment, general cleanliness and upkeep of the centre, and methods of controlling the spread of disease in the centre.
