What do we do?
Public health is about action that protects our environments, prevents illness and injury and promotes health and wellbeing of communities.
Our key role is to plan and deliver services that promote, protect and improve population health, prevent ill health and minimise the risk of disease and injury through population based interventions. The service places an emphasis in its work on improving the health of Māori, children (including maternal health), and young people.
Our staff work across the region in this beautiful part of New Zealand and can be based in any of our offices in Tauranga, Rotorua, and Whakatāne.
