Sun Safety

Skin cancers are the most common forms of cancer in New Zealand and there is strong evidence that excessive exposure to UV radiation during childhood and adolescence is a risk factor for developing skin cancer later in life.
Toi Te Ora Public Health encourages all schools to become a 'SunSmart school' and develop comprehensive sun protection policies and practices.
